Create a free Google Business Profile, verify it with whichever method Google offers you (video, phone call, SMS or post), then fill it in completely: precise category, opening hours, real photos, phone number and website. Ranking then depends on distance, relevance and genuine customer reviews.
Choose the most precise category: “seafood restaurant” beats “restaurant”. Write the address the way people say it, with the neighbourhood: Maarif in Casablanca, Agdal in Rabat, Gueliz in Marrakech. Upload photos of the front and the inside, not stock images, and link the profile to your website.
Ask happy customers right after the service, with a short link or a QR code at the counter. Never buy or write reviews: Google removes them and can suspend the profile. Reply to every review, including the bad ones. Our own profile in Troyes, France, holds 4.8 out of 5 from 17 reviews, all left by real clients.
Google connects the profile to your site. A page for each service and each city you actually work in, with the same name, address and phone number everywhere, strengthens your listing. If you serve customers at their place and have no shop, set a service area instead of an address.
Adding words like “best” or the city name to the business name, which breaks the rules and can get the profile suspended. Forgetting to update opening hours during Ramadan. A phone number nobody answers. A duplicate profile created by a former employee that nobody can access. Search for your business on Maps today and make sure one profile appears: yours. If you find a duplicate, you can ask Google to merge or remove it.
